I began painting and drawing during elementary school and continued throughout high school.  While I was the designated school artist for many years I also received formal training at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.  
          While pursuing my B.S. and D.D.S. degrees, I took a slight hiatus from my art work.  Afterwards, during the time that I was establishing my dental practice, I studied direct stone carving under the tutelage of Elaine Warshaw.
          I have since opened my own sculpting studio and following my retirement from dentistry I have been devoting all of my energies to stone sculpture.  Besides displaying at the Piermont Flywheel Gallery, I have also exhibited at the Heckscher Museum in Huntington, NY.

One of the many natural wonders of nature is the formation of a multitude of stones in various colors, shapes and densities.  As a sculptor, I attempt to uncover the chromatic beauty of the stone creating a shape that is either representative or amorphous but forming a partnership that will elicit an aesthetic emotional response from both the artist and observer.  The resultant sculpture not only speaks to us as a form in space but radiates with the natural colors of nature's own extensive palette.
