Susan Donnellan

“I believe the outcome of an artist’s work is often a private glimpse into their soul.”

- Susan Donnellan
A graduate of Parson's School of Design, Susan Donnellan's background includes many aspects of art and design. Her professional experience includes advertising, package design and illustration for periodicals and children's books.

While raising her children, Susan successfully managed her own design and development company, SuGay Creations for 17 years. Her designs and products were manufactured and marketed to high end cosmetic companies and department stores throughout the US.

During that time, Susan attended the New School, ROCA and the China Institute for further study in Contemporary Chinese Brush painting. Chinese Brush Painting is a meditative and highly disciplined study that takes decades to master.

"I am nowhere near that place; however I keep the principles and techniques of what I learned deeply inside of me. The spontaneity and looseness of my brushstrokes is reflected in many of my paintings."

A past, and now present member of PWG, my work has been displayed throughout tri-state area. In 2007, Susan was commissioned to do a 9 foot triptych oil painting for the Montvale Public Library, NJ. "Magnolias" is permanently displayed behind the library's circulation desk.
