Catherine Wagner Minnery
I am constantly inspired by the natural world; the sunrises and sunsets, the ordinary upstate NY landscape that I see on a daily basis. Of course, I also am deeply moved by the majestic; the rivers and streams and mountains that are part of this landscape. -- Catherine Wagner Minnery
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Minnery graduated from the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati. She has been a resident of the Saratoga Springs, NY area since 1990 and a member of the Piermont Flywheel Gallery since 2004. Her studio is located in Schenectady, NY.

Selected exhibits and awards:

  • 2014- Busy exhibit year with shows in regional exhibits and invitationals as well as 8th solo exhibit at the Flywheel Gallery.

  • 2013 - Submitted painting was voted Best in Show at the Albany Center Gallery’s Project Art, at the Great Northeast Home Show in Albany, NY.

  • 2010 - Participated in the Albany, NY, Institute of History and Artʼs, “Tomorrowʼs Masters Today” exhibit in which her painting was one of ten to be designated as part of the Master Class.

  • 2008 - Exhibited large contemplative drawings of water and streams in a two person show at the Mikhail Zakin Gallery, Demarest, NJ.

  • 2002 - Traveled to Rwanda, Africa, with Catholic Relief Services producing a body of work from that experience: paintings, drawings, photos and text from her travel journal. This material has been widely exhibited in NY, NJ and at CRS headquarters in Baltimore, MD.

  • 2001 - Minnery, along with Saratoga Springs artist Anne Diggory, were part of the New York Times, "In Art's Footsteps"; a 10 part series that revisited locations illuminated by the Hudson River Artists. The two artists took a Times journalist and a Times photographer backpacking along the Opalescent River in search of a flume that was painted by Alexander Helwig Wyant in the 1870’s.
Her work is included in museum, corporate and private collections.
